HELLO VILLAGE!

I’ve been on the edge of my seat waiting to share this with the world.

Keegan and I beta-launched a product that we built together!

bellcurve.baby

Real talk, I don’t know how to write product marketing copy.

I also have no intention to make this thing go viral or for it to make us rich (but, I mean, I guess I’ll leave that possibility open??)

So here’s my authentic excitement in chaotic stream-of-consciousness form.

TIA for reading on. You a real homie.

What the heck is this bellcuve.baby?

It’s a baby registry replacement.

A silly web game where you donate to guess our baby’s birth date + weight (with probability-based guess prices).

Win fun prizes that pimp out our future kid.

We don’t feel bad cuz he’s currently a parasite sucking all my nutrients and energy, and will soon be a parasite that slurps up all our money + free time. And WE ARE STOKED, WE LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!

I did the product design, price modeling, and copywriting. Keegan did all the backend development.

Can you tell our love language is spending time in a shared Github repo and Figma canvas 🥰🥰🥰?

We even filmed a 2 min skit to explain it.

It’s our acting debut, be nice.

The story

Keegan and I have never been “standard path” people.

We took big risks in our careers and swam upstream to explore, prototype, fail, and keep exploring.

We didn’t have a wedding. I wore a $20 Goodwill dress and we signed papers in a civil ceremony, officiated by a purple-haired volunteer commissioner.

Despite being avid ultradistance runners, we don’t really give a shit about what shoes or gear we wear. (Though we care deeply about the community surrounding the sport).

And when we had the great fortune of starting our family, a traditional baby registry didn’t feel like “us”. We wanted it to be more community-driven and nerdy.

And we wanted a chance to give back in a silly way, once baby arrives.

we went to chinatown dim sum w our parents after this
Running Boston-qualifying times in a hand-me-down Costco sports bra and cactus button down.

Explore the product and share your thoughts?

The ability for anyone to create a baby pool is coming.

We think our user base will be data nerds and sports betting fans (...and hyper-practical folks). Isn’t that cute?

Zero expectation for you to chip in, but if you do choose to support us in that way, I promise the prizes are good.

You can pretty easily find the link to Finn’s pool if you click around 😉
